Is your vape TPD compliant?

图片
If you live in a European country and vape, you've probably heard of TBD and, quite recently, TBD compliance. In this post, we look into the Tobacco Products Directive initiative, what it does and what it means for vapers and vape shops. What is TPD? TPD is short for Tobacco Products Directive, a bill designed to regulate the tobacco and e-cigarette industries in the EU. Regulations pertaining to the e-cigarette industry can be found in Article 20 of the document, which has become the foundation for vaping regulations in the UK and most other EU countries. Some of the key points mentioned in the Directive are: 10ml e-liquid limit per bottle (e-liquid bottles can only be legally sold if they don't contain over 10ml of vape juice) 2ml e-liquid limit for tanks (tanks in vaping devices can not go over the capacity of 2ml) 20mg/ml limit on nicotine levels (the concentration of nicotine in e-liquid can not go over 2% or 20mg/ml. Generally, nic salt e-liquids can go up to as high ...

Are e-liquids vegan?

图片
We are often asked if our e-liquids are vegan or if there is a way to tell whether vape juice is vegan or not — if it's not marked as vegan on the label. Because there are so many different e-liquids on the market, it would be difficult to say with absolute certainty that ALL e-liquids are vegan. However, most e-liquids probably are — simply based on the ingredients they contain, which, in most cases do not contain any animal by-products. E-liquids have a base of vegetable glycerine (VG), propylene glycol (PG) or a combination of both. Vegetable Glycerin (or VG), just as the name suggests, is plant-based and Propylene Glycerol (or PG) is a synthetic chemical made from petroleum products. Both PG and VG are generally considered vegan. However, some PG manufacturers have confirmed that there may be animal by-products involved in the process of creating propylene glycol — and if this specific type of PG is used in your vape juice, then it would not be vegan. If there is no way for...

iQ Vaping: How to choose the right PG/VG ratio

图片
Here at iQ Vaping, we focus on helping new vapers efficiently transition from smoking to vaping. If you are a seasoned vaper, you probably know all about PG/VG ratios and what works best for you. If you are relatively new to the habit, however, choosing the right mix may be a challenge. This is why we have prepared a quick and to-the-point guide with tips on choosing the right PG/VG ratio. So, how do you choose the right PG/VG ratio? There are two key things to consider here: what kind of kit you have and what you want to get out of the experience. Let's start with experience. The throat hit : if you are looking for a sharp throat hit when vaping then you'll prefer a high PG vape— and the stronger "kick" is something a lot of ex-smokers crave as it's closer to what they used to experience when smoking cigarettes. Smoothness: High VG vape juices, on the other hand, offer a smoother feeling on the throat. Cloud chasing: if you like exhaling dense clouds of vapor,...

Your Mini Guide To Spit-Back And How To Avoid It?

图片
Spit-back can be quite an unpleasant experience. And whether you have experienced it or haven't had the pleasure just yet — we are sure you want to avoid it. In this mini-guide, we will try to give you all the information you need about what spit-back is and what you can do to avoid it. What Is Spit-Back? In vaping, spit-back is when your coil  "spits" a small amount of heated e-liquid back as you are trying to inhale. As you can see from the description, it's rarely a pleasant occurrence. How And Why Does Spit-Back Happen? Spit-back happens when your e-liquid vaporizes too quickly and turns into a hot bubble, which then bursts with hot vape juice. This is similar to when you accidentally pour some water on a heated pan — it will spit back violently. However, if you pour lots of water on the heated pan, the reaction will be subdued and you won't get a spit-back. In the same way, a coil that is well-saturated should not give you spit-back. Spit-back ca...

iQ Vaping: Why Nic Salts?

图片
Most of our devices are designed for vaping nic salts. This includes our lightest and delightest iQ AIR and the compact but powerful iQ ONE (which actually comes with two interchangeable coils so that you have your choice of nic salts and free base). So why do we prefer nic salts? There are a few things we've considered. Nic salts are typically recommended for ex heavy smokers as they allow for high nicotine concentrations — nic salt e-liquids can go up to 50mg/ml. If you are an ex-smoker and are new to vaping, nic salts may prove to be the most workable solution as they can closely mimic the sensation you used to get from smoking. Thus, there is a lower risk of you going back to smoking. Nic salts are a great fit for low wattage devices. And compact low wattage devices are (in most cases) the best fit for new vapers as they come with almost no learning curve and minimal maintenance letting you get started with vaping right away. Low wattage devices tend to be compact, ...

Mini-Guide: how to choose the right PG/VG balance

图片
Choosing the right (or wrong) PG/VG ratio can make or break your vape. In our Beginner's Guide To PG And VG, we have briefly touched on picking the right PG/VG ratio — but not in as much detail as we will get into today. You can consider this mini-guide a more technical extension to our PG and VG Guide — the one that will help you find the perfect balance for the perfect vape. So, what PG/VG ratio should you use? This depends on several key factors. Namely, what kit you are using and what you want to get out of your vape. Let's start with the kit. While you may have a preference for a specific PG/VG ratio in your e-liquids, it all comes down to nothing if it's not a good match for your equipment. So what equipment can there be? One of the most popular tank types is a clearomizer. These come with high resistance coils and are usually used for vaping under 15 watts. Clearomizers are not a good match for high VG e-liquids: their coils are not well-suited for cop...

Stealth Vaping Techniques With iQ AIR

图片
There are two key things that make stealth vaping possible: the right vaping kit and the right stealth vaping technique. With the iQ AIR , we have the first one covered. So all you need to do now is find the right stealth vaping technique. Stealth vaping is no rocket science — but there are several things you will need to keep in mind. Here are some of the basic "rules" you will need to keep to: Hide your LEDs. Even a small and subtle kit like the iQ AIR still comes with a mini LED indicator in the lower part of the device that lights up every time you take a draw. Even something this small can easily give you away. Thus, the first thing to remember is that you need to cover your LEDs — you can simply do it with your hand as you vape or attach a piece of tape over the LED light. Don't huff and puff. If you want to vape stealthily, you can't take big hits. Even low cloud devices like the iQ AIR can produce quite a bit of vapor when you take a long draw. To ...
