5 quick tips for keeping your Vaping Gear clean and working well

Your vaping gadget can serve you long and well — especially if you keep to a few simple maintenance and cleaning rules.

Rinse your tank before switching flavours

When you are out of e-liquid and want to switch flavours, it’s recommended to clean your tank for a purer flavor experience. On top of that, it’s a good idea to give your vaping gadget a maintenance cleaning at least once every few weeks.

For a simple rinse between flavor changes, you will simply need to:
● Detach the tank from the mod.
● Clear out the remaining e-liquid.
● Disassemble the rest of the tank.
● Fill a bowl with warm water (don’t use hot water).
● Put all the tank parts into the bowl.
● Wash the components of the tank carefully until clean .
● Dry off each piece with a towel and let them air dry for some time.
● Finally, reassemble the tan and refill the e-liquid.

Get rid of excessive condensate if your atomizer is “making sounds”

As you are using your vaping device, it’s air inlet, pipe and nozzle get covered in condensate. This, in turn, can lead to your atomizer making strange sounds when vaping. To get rid of the accumulated condensate, you will have to discharge it. The way you do it is by letting the atomizer “burn” without inhaling for about 3 seconds. Pause and repeat this process 3 times and then let your vaping device sit for at least a few minutes before using it again. This should remove the excessive condensate from your tank and improve your next vaping session.

Clean the mouthpiece (and consider switching to an acrylic one)
After a period of use, you will notice that the mouthpiece if your atomizer have some white residue on it. This is normal and the whole residue is basically left-over mucus and dry saliva. You can simply wash it off with a paper towel — or, if this happens often, switch to a different type of mouthpiece: the ones made with acrylic typically accumulate less residue than metal or glass tips.

Remove the e-liquid when your vape device is not in use

If you do not plan to use your vaping gadget for some time, it’s better to free it of the e-liquid to avoid leakage — the same applies to long-distance travel with your atomizer when you won’t be able to use it. As there is internal pressure inside your vaping device, the e-liquid will be “move around” and, after a long time of inactivity, can leak into the base of your device causing a variety of issues. Thus, it’s best to unscrew the tank from the core and empty it of the e-liquid for proper safekeeping.

Pay attention to the choice of e-liquid

Finally, the type of e-liquid you are using will affect how often you will need to clean your tank — as well as its overall lifespan. Generally, e-liquids with a high VG content (over 60%) tend to be much thicker and stickier, thus leaving more residue in your tank. But this is not the only factor: as different ingredients are used to manufacture different flavours, you may notice that certain brands of e-juices leave more gunk in your tank than others. Take note of that and try to use e-liquids that don’t clog up your tank too much.
